TOURNAMENT TALES
• The Hershey's Mill Golf Club team of Tom Ryan and Jeremy Gillan carded a 3-under-par 68 for top honors during the Philadelphia Section PGA Mizuno Pro-Junior Championship at Gulph Mills Golf Club (Gulph Mills, Pa.) on Sept.‚1. The Greate Bay Gol Club team of Cheri Rice and Jeff Michner shot a 1-under-par 72 for a five-way share of 9th place.
• The Galen Hall Country Club team of Steve Swartz and Fred Seidel teamed for a 7-under-par 64 for top honors during the Philadelphia Section PGA Pro-Am Senior Scratch Championship at LuLu Country Club (Dresher, Pa.) on Aug.‚30. The Little Mill Country Club team of Ken Peyre-Ferry and Chuck Wilkins, the Burlington Country Club team of Mike Mack and Leroy Peacock and the Town and Country Golf Links team of Jim Booros and Daryl Lawson carded 3-under-par 68s to finish in a nine-way tie for 8th place.

• Jay Glestein of Voorhees used a 3-iron on the par-3, 180-yard 4th hole at White Oaks Golf Club on Aug.‚17.
• Chester Pondo of Williamstown used a 6-iron on the par-3, 165-yard 4th hole at White Oaks Golf Club on Aug.‚17.
