Arlene Cherwien defeated Sally Phillips 5 and 4 to win the championship of the Buena Vista Women's Golf Association Handicap Tournament at the Buena Vista Country Club on Aug.‚29.

• The Little Mill Country Club team of Ken Peyre-Ferry, Len Becker, Eric Becker and Chas Goldstein carded a 20-under-par 120 for top honors using the 2 net ball of four format during the Philadelphia Section PGA Jay Z. Levin tournament at the Radnor Country Club (Radnor, Pa.) on Aug.‚25. Vince Ramagli, Phil Rosenfeldt, Jeff Shore and Brian Propp of the Links Golf Club edged the Deerwood Country Club team of Greg Farrow, Corky Clarke, Beasley Reese and Jim Solano of a match of cards for fourth with an 11-under 129. Ramagli and John Appleget of the Greate Bay Golf Club finished in a four-way tie for fourth place with a even-par 70 in the the individual bracket. Stu Ingraham of the Overbrook Golf Club took top honors with a 1-under-par 69. Peyre-Ferry and Tony Perla Jr. of the Bellwood Golf Club tied for top honors in the senior division with a 2-over 72.

• The Linwood Country Club team of Stacy L. Heaney, Marion Gorelick, Brygitte Lusinski, Valerie Losco and Debbie Borman carded an 11-under 60 for a share of fifth place during the inaugural Philadelphia Section PGA Women's Oldsmobile Scramble at Talamore at Oak Terrace (Ambler, Pa.) on Aug.‚23. The Corey Creek Golf Club team of Art Connelly, Sue Alexander, Anne Calkins, Lisa Harvey and Carol Harvey took first place honors with a 15-under 56.

The Tavistock Country Club team of Rick Hughart, Judy McIntyre, Penny Schmidt and Holly Thornton carded a 15-under-par 58 to finish 4 strokes behind the winning Horsham Valley Golf Club team of Mark Nattress, Janet Jacobs, Jan Wolbert and Judy Kramer during the Philadelphia Section PGA Pro-Ladies Team Championship at the Sunnybrook Golf Club (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) on Aug.‚23.

• Judy McDermott, Joanne Joyce, Bobbie McNeil and Eleanor Leek defeated PGA professional Kevin Cotter (one hole, full handicap) during the Buena Vista Women's Golf Association Beat the Pro Tournament at the Buena Vista Country Club on Aug.‚16.

• Chris Foster carded a 49 for 9 holes and edged John Dunn on a match of cards to take top honors in the 8-10 age group during the recent Centerton Golf Club Junior Tournament at the Centerton Golf Club. Connor Bryson (52) placed third.

• The St. George's Pub team of Ed Kline, Leon Costello, Fred Nichols and Charlie Fetter took top honors during the recent 2nd annual Coors Light Battle of the Bars tournament at the Brigantine Golf Links. The Paoli's team of Bill Augustine, Donald Esposito, Mark Krason and Maury Ward placed second.
