For Mount Laurel resident Jim Killough, his hole-in-one on Aug.‚23 was more than one moment in time.
It was more like three moments in time. Playing in the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev benefit tournament at the Woodcrest Country Club, Killough scored his ace when he used a 5-wood on the par-3, 206-yard 16th hole. That's one. Moment two was the reward of a new Toyota Solara sponsored by Cherry Hill Toyota for his hole-in-one. And moment three was the added prize of $10,000.
``That's my first one,'' Killough said. ``I've been playing for about 15 years. I've played the course 4 or 5 times and never even been on the green on that hole.''
Killough carries a 18.5 handicap.
He won the Toyota ``outright,'' he said. ``I'm not sure if I'll keep it or not. I haven't received the $10,000 yet. It has to go through the insurance. The insurance takes a while.''
That's moments two and three.
Moment one was the hole-in-one.
``That was a great feeling,'' Killough, who is employed by Sun Bank, said. ``When I saw it hit in front of the green and started rolling toward the pin that's when I thought I had a chance. I could see the ball go into the cup. It was exciting, very exciting.''
