OF NOTE
A limited number of tickets to the 64th Senior PGA Championship, June 2-3, 2003, at the Aronimink Golf Club (Newtown Square, Pa.) are on sale at (800) PGA-TCKT or online at www.SeniorPGA2003.com.
The $200 Club House Ticket includes admission to the club house and golf course all seven days. The $175 Trophy Club Ticket includes seven days admission and poolside hospitality. The $95 Season Ticket includes seven days admission. Daily tickets for practice rounds are $10; championship rounds are $30. Kids, 17 and under, will be admitted all seven days if accompanied by a ticket-bearing adult.
TOURNAMENT TALES
Michael Vereari (44) of Haddonfield, Mike Meehan (47) of Moorestown and Sehoon Sin (48) of Moorestown placed 1-2-3 in the boys' 10-11 and girls' 10-12 combined division (nine holes) during the Philadelphia Section PGA 2002 Junior Tour on Tuesday at the Centerton Golf Club. Matt Rudenbush (81, match of cards) of Pine Valley, Jack Meehan (81) of Moorestown and Ryan Crisculo (137) of Southampton placed 1-2-3 in the boys' 12-13 division.
In the boys' 14-15 division, Johnny Borrell (74, match of cards) of Pitman, Michael O'Keefe (74) of Medford and Stephan Sieracki (78) of Cherry Hill placed 1-2-3. Joseph Kilgallow (72) of Cherry Hill, Justin Day (75) of Marlton and Garrett Earthman (77) of Cherry Hill placed 1-2-3 in the boys' 16-18 division. Soo Shin (91) of Moorestown won the girls' 13-18 division.
Greg Farrow of Deerwood Country Club carded a 35-34-69 for top honors in the Senior Division of the Philadelphia Section PGA Oakley Classic on Monday at Plymouth Meeting Country Club (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.). Ken Peyre-Ferry of Links Golf Club posted a 34-38-72 for a fourth-place finish. Terry Hatch (36-32-68) of Mountain Valley Golf Club defeated Rick Steinmetz (34-34-68) of Spring Ford Country Club, John Appleget (34-34-68) of Blue Heron Pines Golf Club and Bill Sautter (33-35-38) of Sunnybrook Golf Club in a one-hole playoff for top honors in overall play. Farrow placed fifth overall with his 69.
Christopher Gold of Haddonfield carded a 68 for top honors in the boys' 14-15 division during the Philadelphia Section PGA 2002 Junior Tour.
HOLES IN ONE
Gloria Greenwald of Lambertville used an 11-wood on the par-3, 125-yard third hole at Pennsauken Country Club on Monday.
Mack Fetter of Blackwood used a 6-iron on the par-3, 170-yard 14th hole at Ron Jaworski's Valleybrook Golf Club on Sunday.
Edward Pazwaro of Mount Laurel used a 6-iron on the par-3, 153-yard fourth hole at Scotland Run Golf Club on July 18.
Howard Meyers of Brigantine used an 8-iron on the par-3, 160-yard 12th hole at Brigantine Golf Links on July 12.
Josh Cohen of New York used a 9-iron on the par-3, 150-yard seventh hole at Brigantine Golf Links on July 4.
