Former Philadelphia Eagle Mike Quick, former Harlem Globetrotter Frank Washington, former 76er and former 76er coach Fred Carter, former 76er Gerald Henderson along with KYW's Ukee Washington, Channel 3's Beasley Reese and Channel 29's Don Tollefson are among the invited guests to play in the 32nd annual Bill Bishop Pro-Am Golf Classic at the Freeway Golf Course on Aug. 3-4 to benefit the Bill Bishop junior golf programs. TOURNAMENT TALES
Phil Anzaldo of Haddonfield carded a 73 for top honors in the Boys' 14-15 Division during the Philadelphia Section PGA 2002 Junior Tour at the Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club on Wednesday. Christopher Golf also of Haddonfield posted a 77 for third place.
Brixton Albert of Lititz, Pa., posted a 71 for first place in the Boys' 14-15 Division during the Philadelphia Section PGA 2002 Tour at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort (York, Pa.) on Tuesday. Michael O'Keefe of Medford posted a 75 to finish third.
Jared Dalponte carded a 22 for top honors in the first Junior Golf Camp Tournament at the Wheat Road Driving Range on Friday. Bobby Galbiati (26) defeated Nick Mason in a sudden-death playoff for second place.
Garret Basalyga, Kevin Frost, and Eli Perry of Talamore at Oak Terrace Country Club teamed with Christopher Reedman of the Trenton Country Club for a 134 and top gross honors during the Golf Association of Philadelphia Four-Man Team tournament at the Whitford Country Club (Exton, Pa.) on July 11. Ronald Cusick of the Tavistock Country Club and Thomas Hyland of the Little Mill Country Club teamed with Kevin McClellan and George Becker III of the Doylestown Country Club for a 136 and second place. Mike Schnur and Gerald Behr of the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club teamed with Michael Anderson and Matthew Kane of the Sandy Run Country Club for a 126 and net top honors. Don McKay, Bill Kaufmann and Art Gallagher of the Woodbury Country Club teamed with Kevin Lake of the Llanerch Country Club for a 128 and second place.
Jamie Wallace of Moorestown carded a 70 for top honors in the Boys' 16-18 Division during the Philadelphia Section PGA 2002 Junior Tour at the Downingtown (Pa.) Country Club on July 10. David Kittrell, also of Moorestown, posted a 72 for third place.
HOLES IN ONE
Manuel Renomeron of Williamstown used an 8-iron on the par-3, 120-yard 10th hole at the Kresson Golf Club on July 11.
Mike Mitchell used a 9-iron on the par-3, 90-yard 16th hole at the Maple Ridge Golf Club on July 11.
Tom Milliron of Willingboro used a 7-wood on the par-3, 174-yard 16th hole at the Indian Spring Country Club on July 11.
Cindy Monokian of Voorhees used a 9-wood on the par-3, 117-yard 2nd hole at the Little Mill Country Club on June 30.
